RE: Point Load on a Solid
CAtia does not allow to apply anything directly on the mesh, unfortunately.
If the point lies on the surface of the solid, you could try the following. I have never tried it but always wanted to. So maybe you could tell me if it works or not.
With the Shape workbench, create a point where you want to apply the load. Then, in the Generative structural analysis workbench, you mesh your part once. Then, double click again on the mesh in the tree and define a local mesh adding "Impose Points". Select the point you created. Remesh the part. That way, the mesh will consider the point you create. That, I know it works as I have done it a lot of time.
Now try to apply a force of the point and run your analysis see if Catia transfer the force from the point to the node.
So there you go. I will try it tomorrow and see if it works. If it doesn't, there might be another way.
Hope this helps for the moment.
RE: Point Load on a Solid
Just tried it and it does work perfectly. Point loads can easily create peak stresses, so be carefull!

I tried figuring this out, actually for a few hours. I just do not see/have the option to define a local mesh.
RE: Point Load on a Solid
One thing we haven't precised at the beginning. What version of Catia are you using? I just assumed that it was V5 R14 or up.
If it is the case, just look at the document I just made up.
I hope this will help a little bit.
RE: Point Load on a Solid
It worked perfectly, thank you very much!
