Layers and Categories

(OP)
6.0.2.8

(Simplifying things) I have a category defining the layers that Datums should be created on :

DATUMS - Layers 30-50

I use 'Layers with Objects' to keep the dialog simple and uncluttered.

Using NX5 and earlier, when I go to Layer Settings and I want to create a Datum, I click the DATUMS category and the available layers (for that category) highlight allowing me to easily select the next unused layer. I choose a layer, make it the Work layer and exit the dialog. So easy.

How do I use the same 'workflow' in NX6 ?

RE: Layers and Categories

That exact same behavior is no longer supported, however, if you use categories extensively, I suspect that you may find that when the 'Category Display' option is toggled ON, that setting the 'Show' option to 'All Layers' will now work much better since the listing is now hierarchical, by Category.  And you can limit the content of the list even more so by using the Category Filter to show ONLY the contents of a single Category in the listing.
