Steel pipe pile splicing

Steel pipe pile splicing

(OP)
Like to know typical splicing detail with no welding for a steel pipe pile. Any limitations, specifically with soil conditions with uplift loads and under water.

RE: Steel pipe pile splicing

Associated Pile and Fitting Corp has a drive-on splicer or coupling for pipe piles that has worked well for me driving friction piles in clay or end-bearing piles through clay to bedrock.  They fit well on standard pipe, but didn't always drive home on surplus oil field pipe because the pipe was thick-walled and hard.  For tension or moment capacity, some welding is necessary.
