BOM (V20)
BOM (V20)
(OP)
Just a little question about BOM in assy mode.
We just started to use this extensively in the last 6 months. I was wondering when you're in Property manager and have "BOM view" selected, why does every thing show? Maybe it's me, but i would think if you have this selected only items you want on the BOM would show. I go through my assy and select the parts i don't want in the BOM and change the "Assembly Reports" to NO. Am i maybe missing another option???

KENAT,
Have you reminded yourself of FAQ731-376: Eng-Tips.com Forum Policies recently, or taken a look at posting policies: http://eng-tips.com/market.cfm?
What is Engineering anyway: FAQ1088-1484: In layman terms, what is "engineering"?
RE: BOM (V20)
Basically in Solid edge when you create a assembly every item is included in your BOM. Now if there's something you don't want in BOM, you then go to the part, select "Occurrence Properties" and select NO under "Assembly Reports". Now that item will not show in your BOM report. Your next step (everyone different on this) will be to open Property Manager and fill in, or change, the pertinent information. What i'm trying to ask here is, is there a way to just show BOM items that will print out when you run a report?
Hope this clarifies it or maybe make you more confused...:)

Once you get into reports there are several different types of BOM and this is where having changed occurance properties set not to show in assy reports takes effect.
However, within property manager you're limited to either an 'atomic bom' display which shows all piece parts even if in a sub-assy or what is effectively a single level bom, essentially all the 'models' directly in the assy. As far as I know this can't be changed though I'm still V19.
