Raw Materials Testing

Raw Materials Testing

(OP)
Hello to everyone, I am new in this forum.
I have a question about "raw material testing methods" for rubber industry??

RE: Raw Materials Testing

You're in the right place. What do you want to know?

Ok, I wanted to know;

What are the serious and needed parameters to evaluate the raw materials of compound, such as oils,fillers,small chemicals,antiozonants etc....

RE: Raw Materials Testing

You need a fully equiped chemical laboratory to evaluate the chemicals in their original state plus and fully equiped physical test laboratory to determine rheometer cure times, viscosity, hardness, tensile, perhaps tear resistance, dynamic modulus, ozone resistance, etc.

At a minimum I would look for changes in rheometer cure times, viscosity, hardness, and tensile properties.  Take a look at www.bouncing-balls.com for more on rubber history and technology.

RE: Raw Materials Testing

in the R.T.Vanderbilt rubber handbook you can see what to check on each raw material,  in Rubber plants you check the Mooney Viscocity of the raw rubber and some more like the moisture of every powder, etc
