Merging Start Part parameters into a part without parameters

Merging Start Part parameters into a part without parameters

Merging Start Part parameters into a part without parameters

(OP)
Beginning user. I have created a model without using our company designed Start Part. As a consequence, I do not have parameters needed to fill in the fields in our drawing formats. Is there a way to merge the parameters into my model without having to completely start over?
Thanks in advance,
GeneS

Make a new assembly, using your company parameters. Assemble the part in question, in the model tree, set to show all the parameters, then simply fill in the blanks for the part.

Gene,

In version 2001 you can add missing parameters by opening the part and selecting Set Up, Parameters and then entering the appropriate informationin the pop-up window.  In earlier versions I believe the menu picks were Set Up, Parameters, Add, String.

You should also rename your default datums and coordinate system, add appropriate layers, and add saved view names to match your company's start part.
