Thanks

my config:
Windows xp pro
2x intel quad core xeon  2.5 ghz
ATI Fire GL v7350

RE: Background color

on tab 'View' select 'View' --> tab 'Background'
choose 'Gradient'

Thanks for the reply donyoung, i tried that but when i choose vertical gradient and click ok it shows only white..this is my color setup : color 1 default, color 2 white..
Everytime i start solid edge it shows only pure white.

RE: Background color

check --  ApplicationButton -- SolidEdge Options -- Colors
the Color Scheme is set to default (I assume that)
Then the Background color is set to white

Now in View -- View -- Background
 - Color #1 should be Black (default) otherwise set it.
 - Color #2 should be White
Setting Type to 'Gradient' should result in that background
you want.
You should apply this setting to the template(s) you are going
to use for new parts (i.e. 'ansi part.par', or 'iso part.par', ...)
then it will persist.
IIRC there once was an error in one of the templates, it always
switched back to non gradient (white). I'm running SEwST/MP5
