splitter dampers as per SMACNA

splitter dampers as per SMACNA

(OP)
Hi,
Can any body help me?
What are the recommandations on usage of splitter dampers subject to the sizes as per SMACNA?
Splitter dampers are not recommanded for larger duct sizes, is it true? please clarify with codes if possible,
Thanks.

RE: splitter dampers as per SMACNA

I don't think there's any code requirement for dampers other than fire and smoke dampers.

If you have lots of space, the duct system can be designed so splitter dampers should not be needed......there is never enough space for a duct system and, if you are going to balance the system, use spltter dampers.
