carrier ring gaskets

carrier ring gaskets

(OP)
Dear all,

has anybody already experienced the calculation and use of this kind of gaskets ?

I am facing the calculation of carrier ring gasket with OMEGA RING in two(2) halves with two cases "on the table":

CASE 1) two 2 halves of OMEGA metal gasket each holding a spiral wound gasket which are in contact with the flange face.

CASE 2) two 2 halves of OMEGA metal gasket each holding a spiral wound gasket which are in contact with the flange face + an additional spiral wound gasket in the middle and between the two halves.

- How can I perform the calculation?
- How and how many gaskets values ( Y and m) I have to consider in the calculation?
- How is the sealing between the two halves if there is no gasket in the middle ( case 1) ?
- Do I have to consider as gasket "G" either the G of the Spiral Wound and the G of the Omega gasket which could be at the weld??

THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME !!

Kind regards

mombu
