Steam heat transfer

Steam heat transfer

Steam heat transfer

(OP)
Hi Everybody !

Please, I would be extremely grateful if somebody could help me in following issue:
- I looked to past post. I found a lot concerning steam coils and steam desuperheaters, but none includes this specific information:

I'd need a reference where to find a formula for the heat transfer coefficient and the pressure drop calculation in case of steam cooling into a tube.
In this case I suppose that it is not possible to utilize a reference value, but there should exist a defined formula.

The final aim would be to determine heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop.

Please can anybody help me ?

Many thanks

RE: Steam heat transfer

You're going to have to help yourself and get out your thermo/heat transfer textbooks. Jacob and Hawkins is good for heat transfer.

There is no pat answer to your question.

Dear Mr. willard3,

indeed your answer is what I am looking for.

I will try to get the book you are suggesting me.

Many thanks

Any other suggestions ?

RE: Steam heat transfer

Get a steam book from Bobcock and Wilcox as it has plenty of material on the subjects you seek.
