Solids Stream in Aspen Plus - Oil sands extraction plant simulation

Solids Stream in Aspen Plus - Oil sands extraction plant simulation

(OP)
Hello, all

I'm simulating oil sands extraction plant starting with slurry preparation.  As I am very new to Aspen Plus, I need major help.

My question is how I can create a stream that represents solids in bitumen ore.

I created a stream and chose "CISOLID" as substream name, but everytime I close window and open it up again, its substream name is changed to "MIXED"  Also, I don't know what properties I should enter for this kind of stream.

Any helps would be greatly appreciated.

You need classify the compound like Non-conventional. In adition to you need the density, the heat capacity and the particule size distribution for the compound. These parameters are necessary for Aspen to run the simulation.

Has anyone had good experience with PRO II and simulating suspended solids in streams?  What methods did you use, or add ons?  Just curious.  Thank you.
