Babel Box Protocol Converter

Babel Box Protocol Converter

Babel Box Protocol Converter

(OP)
Hi,

We are looking to modify the configuration of a Babel Box Protocol Converter. We do not have the original configuration and have never modified one before. There is very little, if any, details available on the web. I have tried contacting MMI Solutions in the UK but have yet to get a response. Does anyone have details on how to modify these units? Are they pasword protected?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Regards
Martin

RE: Babel Box Protocol Converter

Martin,
I found this old post here:

http://www.eng-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=98573&page=27

One person mentions contacting Red Lion and getting manuals from them.  I might suggest just changing over to the Red Lion product for this as the Babel Box seems to have been considered obosolete in 2004.  We have some videos on our training site at PLCMentor.com if you want to know what is involved with configuring the Red Lion products.  They have a stand alone protocol converter and their HMI's have it built in.

Hi Russell,

Thanks for the info. I got very good responses from both MMI Solutions and Red Lion and now have all the information I need to progress with the Babel Box config. I do agree the Red Lion equivalent looks a good product.

If anyone need info on the Babel box then let me know and I will forward it on.

Regards

Martin.
