steam ops Anti-Icing Tubes tube to manifold failure

steam ops Anti-Icing Tubes tube to manifold failure

(OP)
Hi guys,

We have set of anti-icing duct that are failing where the tube is welded onto the manifold.

The system consist of LP steam at about 4bar fed into the anti-icing system at about 128degC

a bundle consist of a bottom manifold where the steam enters  and 3 top manifolds.

The bundle is supported by the bottom manifold (welded on the lower louver support)

We've experienced quite significant failures of different bundles at the tube to manifold weld. I have done my calculations and for each 10m tube, the elongation is meant to be about .021m.
Does anyone have any idea why this system might be experiencing this failure? and if so what sort of remedial actions can you suggest?

I have considered changing the support from the bottom headers to the top but the cost will enter quarter of a million pound.

Please do drop more information or knowledge you have on this subject they will all be taken in and appreciated.
