In the Vane Shear Test. How do you calculate\Control the Torque (T). Also, in the equations to calculate Cu, what is Beta. After you calculate Cu from the test. how do you calculate the bearing pressure. Thanks

RE: Vane Shear Test

Are you a practicing geotechnical engineer? - Basic stuff - see US Army Corps of Engineers Manuals; check out Bowles Foundation Book - 5th Edition.

RE: Vane Shear Test

Look up the "library" and do a search for "vane shear test" in the web site for US Bureau of Reclamation

You will find many references.

As for bearing capacity calcs, that probably is not something that anyone can answer without much more info on your job and even then I doubt that you will find a suitable answer here.
