When the thickness does not exceed one-half of the inside radius,

When the thickness does not exceed one-half of the inside radius,

When the thickness does not exceed one-half of the inside radius,

The subject , from the ASME VIII UG 27 states

When the thickness does not exceed one-half of the inside
radius, use the given formula ..and so on

My question: for a given hollow diameter no more than 10 mm
known the material property as
S =  maximum allowable stress value
Static pressure, no flow.It shall be up to 7000 BARg
Ambient temperature about 25 °C
What shall be the thickness?

RE: When the thickness does not exceed one-half of the inside radius,

7001 Bar a... And you are building to Section VIII Div. 1?

Seek professional help. Before someone gets hurt.

RE: When the thickness does not exceed one-half of the inside radius,

Exactly what jte said.

With high design pressures the thickness rules of Section VIII division 1 do NOT apply.

The question implies insufficient expertise.  With these pressures a professional mechanical engineer with experience in (high) pressure technology MUST be in responsible charge.

RE: When the thickness does not exceed one-half of the inside radius,

Thanks.
