hello all,
sorry but i'm really worried about a frame that i design.
I need to know if the frame is checked and can be built up with the profile i decided during my SAP2000's test.
Can anyone help me to check the frame and tell me if all is ok and the frame will be right with that frame?
I'm worried because somenone tell me that often sap2000 makes some mistake in the postprocessor coefficient (like "effective leght factor" "unbraced lenght factor" etc).
can someone check my file and tell me all is ok?doesn't matter the code (CICS, BS, or EUROCODE), i just want a reassurance
i really need to be calm down. (is my first big design work)

I see you're not running a modal analysis. I would suggest always running a modal analysis because it serves as a great troubleshooting tool.
Check your reactions and equilibrium to make sure everything makes sense. Are your boundary conditions representative? Does your deflected shape make sense?
I don't know the Eurocode but it seems odd that you're using only one load combination. Are there no different directions of loading, people standing on it during construction, etc? I would think that the Eurocode requires some minimum application of lateral load as well to check stability. Your vertical members have potential to sway. Even though the code may have stability factors included they may need to be checked by being meshed along their length while running a nonlinear analysis with some notional loads.
Even though I know SAP fairly well I always pick out the most critical members and do hand calculations with the code to make sure I get the same unity ratio as SAP. You need to check by hand to convince yourself it's right. You need to be able to sleep at night knowing your structure is sound and none of us on this forum can achieve that for you. I know it sounds like a lot of work but it's part of being a good engineer. A good rule, if you're worried about your structure, it shouldn't be built.
If you're still uncertain you should sit down with whoever is going to stamp the drawings and hash it out with them. Ultimately it will be their responsibility. Hope I've helped at least a little.
