Properties of Liver

Properties of Liver

(OP)
Looking for a mechanical properties of healthy liver and material that can subsutitute the liver.

Can anyone suggest me where to look for these information?
I am very interested in tensile strength, compression strength, density, etc.

Thanks for your help!

RE: Properties of Liver

1.  Are you interested in functional properties, ie those that would relate to the ability of the liver to function or mechanical properties of liver tissue.

2.  If it's functional properties I would investigate reverse osmosis materials or membranes, catalytic reactions, replacement filters, and more. Because the body has many back up systems, I would decide what functions of the liver were primary to the liver.  Check out the website below.  Read up on liver function then translate medical function words into physical mechanical functions and research the web.

Good luck.
