Plaxis/generic FEM software question

Plaxis/generic FEM software question

Plaxis/generic FEM software question

(OP)
Hi. I'm would appreciate advice or comments on this potential problem I have.
I have installed on my laptop, FEM software package Plaxis V9. This requires a usb dongle to run, which I don't always have access to.
However, I have access to Plaxis V8.2 with license, that does not require a dongle.
Do I have to uninstall the V9 to install an earlier version, or will they run side by side? I'm concerned about compatibility issues, software conflicts, that sort of thing. Ideally, I'd like to keep them both on the same laptop. Is this possible?
Thanks in advance for you reply.

RE: Plaxis/generic FEM software question

I don't think anyone on this forum has heard of Plaxis.

RE: Plaxis/generic FEM software question

Plaxis is a Program developed by a dutch company.
On http://www.plaxis.com you can find information.
It is not the usual FEA program to calculate materials, but more specialized in geotechnical stuff.
I think you should send an email to info@plaxis.nl for your question.
