Read-Only RSLgix 5

Read-Only RSLgix 5

(OP)
I am trying to set-up a read-only version of Rockwell RSLogix-5 software for my technicians to use to troubleshoot our processes without having the ability to do anything other than read logic and data table values: no changes allowed. I've tried the RSLogix program/file passwords, but when I go online, it defaults to class 1 with all the priveledges. Lower class defaulting only seems to work in offline mode. Is there a way (start-up switches, other vendor products) that will provide me with a solution? We are also looking for this for RSLogix 500 as well.
Thank You in advance for your help..

RE: Read-Only RSLgix 5

In RSLinx if you right mouse click on the processor and "View Ladder Code" allows for view only.  I am using 2.53 rslinx and I know that it worked in most previous versions but was broken in a few in between.  This should be enough for them and logix 500 I think does not even need to be loaded.

RE: Read-Only RSLgix 5

Try taking a look at RS Ladder, let someone look at the PLC logic.

Rockwell used to bundle it with some other products, check with your AB rep for a demo if one exists.

Hope that helps.
