No way to fit text when entering title block data?

No way to fit text when entering title block data?

No way to fit text when entering title block data?

(OP)
Is there no way, when entering data in the title block, to get the text to resize either automatically (like in AutoCAD) or using a button like "Fit Text"? The latter button only works in notes, apparently. Seems like this functionality would have been implemented by now but I can't find anything. Currently the text will run out of the textbox and even off of the drawing.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

RE: No way to fit text when entering title block data?

Which version of SW are you using. This functionality has been in SW for a while.

When I enter title block data it most certainly doesn't resize the text. Is there an option involved here that I might have turned off? Thanks.

RE: No way to fit text when entering title block data?

Have you sized the text window to the required size?

RE: No way to fit text when entering title block data?

I have the option to change the font size but otherwise the textbox is initially just a box with an X through it which can't be resized.

RE: No way to fit text when entering title block data?

How is/was the textbox created? Is it pre-existing in a template or sheet format?

Are you typing directly into it or is it linked to a model's custom properties?

If you create a new note, can you re-size the textbox, and does the text then wrap?

This occurs using pre-made drawing template or with an imported AutoCAD drawing template.

I am typing in directly.

"If you create a new note, can you re-size the textbox, and does the text then wrap?"

Tried it. Doesn't make it wrap. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

Looks like I'm stuck manually changing the text font...

RE: No way to fit text when entering title block data?

When you create a new note, rather than simply clicking the spot on the drawing where you want to place the note, drag a window where you want the note to be located.  This somehow (for me at least) allows me to re-size the text box in a manner that the text will wrap appropriately.

Thanks for that info. The problem is that I'm not actually trying to wrap the text, just get it to automatically resize to fit in a certain space. I'm pretty sure at this point that SW doesn't have such functionality. (Much to the chagrin of former ACAD users.)

RE: No way to fit text when entering title block data?

Oh, so you want the font size to automatically adjust to suit the text box. In effect creating tiny, or at least non-standard size, text?

Strange ideas these former ACAD users have. poke

RE: No way to fit text when entering title block data?

Yeah, sorry if I wasn't clear.

Indeed, those ACAD users... :)

RE: No way to fit text when entering title block data?

Personally, I like my drawing titles to and designer names to always be the same font.  I wouldn't like BOB SMITH to have giant font and WILLIAM ANDERSON JR. to have tiny font.  But that is just me.
