I was wondering if any Solid Works users here are using the Logopress3 add-on for tool & die design. Currently we use NX5 and have the Progressive Die Wizard which is terrible. I'm just looking for what users think of it.

RE: Logopress3 for Die Design

I have demo'ed it and would like to get it for our die designs.  I think it works pretty good.  The only reason we haven't is the typical trying to get manangement to spend the money.  They are a bit focused on inprovements in other areas of the company at the moment.

Best thing to do if you are in the states is to give Ray Proeber a call at Accurate Die Design.  They are the resellers here in the states.

Ray is an old hand at die design and can show you the software.  He uses it in his die design business.  Ray won't hard sell you or pester you on the phone.

See if you can have him get you a demo copy so you can give it a try.

They have a bunch of videos on their website which are very enlightening on how the software works.  It is worthwhile to spend the time watching them to help you in your research.

RE: Logopress3 for Die Design

After a very long research we selected Logopress3 for Solidworks.

Since then I've been using it for die designing daily and after using it for couple of years, I highly recommend it. It's same like SWX and very easy to learn. It's so well integrated in to SWx and works in hand-in hand and you don't feel that it is a add-in of a third party developer.

Attached are the Die designs I did in the summer of 2008 using LP3. Lately it has become more powerful and it is awesome.

It looked pretty good from the screen shots I saw, but so did the PDW from UGS. I have never used SolidWorks but it should not be a tough switch from NX. I may try to get our company to try it after things settle down in our industry.
