Unfolding tubes for profile layout

Unfolding tubes for profile layout

(OP)
I have a series of tubes that come together in a dragster looking frame work. These are small with some down to .250 in dia with .035 wall. largest are .875 dia. with .049 wall.

I have them all drawn in 3-D to be exactly on center and trimmed to the joining cluster tubes.

I now need to take each tube, do a hairline split lengthwise to unfold in sheet metal so I can create a drawing/.dxf file of that unfolded tube. Only a few of the 150 tubes lay on a flat plane. I searched the FAQ's for this but perhaps missed.

I have not developed the skill to make the line to unfold? I must be missing one little step.
