AISC Design Guide 15 is the current resource for information on historic structural shapes. It is an update and enlargement of a 1953 AISC publication (Iron and Steel Beams, 1873 to 1952). A friend has given me a copy of the 1953 book. After extensive checking, it appears that the 1953 book is in the public domain... so I have posted the zipped, .pdf file on  this page of my website:
