Hardness Test

Hardness Test

Hardness Test

(OP)
Hi Dears
Is hardness test necessary for welding area(HAZ) of none pressure parts such as Column internals, trays etc?
(Our applicable standards are ASME SEC VIII,IX and NACE -MR0103)

RE: Hardness Test

If the requirements of MR0103 have been contractually imposed upon the internals as well as the pressure envelope materials, then the answer will have to be 'yes - as directed by MR0103'.  Ascertaining whether MR0103 should have been applied to the internals in the first place is best addressed by an FMEA and subclause 1.2.1 of the NACE standard.
