3D Files to Inventor 10

3D Files to Inventor 10

3D Files to Inventor 10

(OP)
We have Inventor 11 and I need to get a file to a customer that has inventor 10.  I have sent all kinds of different files.  STEP SAT IGES.  The customer says that they can not open any of the files.  I do not have any problem opening them in Inventor 11 and exporting out of Inventor 11 as step iges and sat.  Any thoughts of what may be happening here?  Any other suggestions on how to get these files into Inventor 10.  Thanks

RE: 3D Files to Inventor 10

The customer is untrained/mistaken..
You should have no problems saving to step and opening in any version of inventor.

Sounds to me like maybe their cad guy is expecting iam/ipt files and just saying anything else won't work

RE: 3D Files to Inventor 10

Just in case have them go to Tools>Add-Ins and make sure the STEP stranslator is loaded.  Other than that you will probably have to walk them step-by-step on how to open the file.  You might first ask them if they can create a simple cube save it as STEP and then open the STEP file they created.

Cool thanks I will mention about the step translator and how to make sure it is loaded.
