EN code concerning DIN / ASME fittings

EN code concerning DIN / ASME fittings

EN code concerning DIN / ASME fittings

(OP)
Hi all,
this is my first post in this forum. So please tell me if I'm posting this in the wrong section.

Does anybody know if there is a EN (european) code representing ASME or DIN fittings?

I know there is the EN-1092 which represents DIN flanges, and EN-1759 which represents ASME B16.5 flanges.

Now I'm looking for a EN-code that represents ASME B16.9 and DIN2615 tees (and other fittings).
I've already found the EN-10253 which gives DIN fitting measurements. It tells nothing about strength though, only minimal material properties.

ASME B16.9 for example says that the needed wall thickness of a fitting according to that code can be calculated as were it a standard piece of pipe.

Can any of you help me out on this issue? Where to find a statement on pressure rating for standard ASME and DIN fittings according to EN-code?

Thanks in advance for your replies.
With Regards,
Corné

RE: EN code concerning DIN / ASME fittings

cornemo,

See Part 7 of EN 10253-2 or EN 10253-4 if they apply. Also have a look in EN 13480-3.

Thanks for your reply. I couldn't find anything on standard fittings in EN 13480-3. Can you point me to the specific chapter?
I had already found EN 10253-1, but hadn't found 10253-2. Looks like that says something about strength indeed.

Are there also EN versions of ASME B16.9?

I have read EN 10253-2 and I understand there are Type A and Type B fittings. DIN 2615 tees seem to be Type B fittings to me, but I can't find anything in the EN 10253-2 adressing this. Calculating the tees can't be done as DIN 2615 doesn't give all the exact measurements needed.
Can I assume the tables in appendix C of EN 10253-2 apply to standard DIN fittings?
Thanks in advance for your reply,
Corné
