Hi,

I would like to modify screws in my catalog (add new BODY for boolean operations).

When I make a new body with negative thread, problem occurs when you insert this component in assembly and copy the boolean body to other part to make remove operation. Thread info is not transfered, you end up with hole but thread has to be added manually.

Is it possible to copy also the thread information from this boolean body?

RE: Thread info / links

If a link is maintained then you can use the technological properties to transfer the thread information from one part to another. you need to do this on the source and the result body (right click on body -> body object -> create technological results.

Peter,

Please can you give me the procedure info in few more steps.

Thnx Peter, I did it in 3D... in part design TAP - THREAD ANALYSIS has detected the thread but when I make the drawing it is showing like simple hole (in view properties THREAD option is checked).

RE: Thread info / links

I have some CATparts with multiple part bodies, where the threads do not show up in the drawing, but only for some part bodies.

Doing this solved the problem.  But I am unclear as to the methodology behind this?  What is a "technological result" and why do I have to do this for some of my part bodies in order for the threads to show up, when other part bodies are fine?

Thanks for any insight.

RE: Thread info / links

"technological result" are used on bodies that will be used in a boolean operation to carry the manufacturing data to the body involved in the boolean operation.

Why it's not working in drafting?

I feel so stupid now :)))

I did the technological result on pasted body not on the main body in target part, of course that is working perfectly also in drafting!

This is how we learn form someone's mistake.

This one's (*) for you
