If that's the best you can do in the way of an information request you may want to rethink the prospect of opening your own business.

RE: Pricing up a new job

Get a GOOD business plan
Get a GOOD lawyer
Get a GOOD accountant.

And by the way - GOOD LUCK

"what involes in pricing a job up these days? "
A little bit of time, and in-depth knowledge of your industry.

What should be considered when pricing a job these days?
Same as it's always been;
Materials + Labour + Overheads + Mark-up/Profit

There may more for your particular field, but in the absence of any meaningful information, the absolute basics will have to suffice.

RE: Pricing up a new job

A set of dice and a dartboard usually works.

RE: Pricing up a new job

Funny, just this afternoon I was whining to a colleague about such an exercise being a nothing more than a roll of the dice. Now I must go do a few more rolls so I can submit my proposal tomorrow.
