Replica Structures

(OP)
Does any one have any information on Replica Structures?  We are going to be starting one soon, and I need to find some info about them.

The building is supposed to look like a 1920's general store.  So I was thinking wood joist floor both levels. Wood siding as the cladding something along those lines.  If anybody has any experience with this I could really use the help

RE: Replica Structures

By "replica structures", do you mean a brand name, or that you're creating a replica of a historic general store?  If you're creating the replica, I would recommend looking at some old engineering design or estimating books, which give good insight into how things used to be built.  Depending on the size, you might consider researching the "fireproof" wood structures and their methods of construction.  There were entire books written on this in the early 1900s.

You could also contact your local historical society for photographs of similar structures or consider hiring a historic preservation architect or engineer to assist with the historic details.

Have fun!
