Thermal Contact Element

Thermal Contact Element

Thermal Contact Element

(OP)
Hi,
I have modeled a solid model that contains 3 different materials. I want to add thermal contact resistance to my model. Is there anyone who knows which element I should use? The model is just a thermal analysis model.

RE: Thermal Contact Element

You have to interface the materials with contact elements at the boundary.  You will also need to add in the TCC real constant for the contacts.  You materials should not have coincident nodes at their interfaces else you won't have any resistance.

RE: Thermal Contact Element

Hi,
I have similar problem as protrader. Could protrader or somebody pls eloborate how the solution was achieved(Perhaps stringmaker could detail how to have non coincident nodes and how to attach new element to it)...

Thanks
Ravi
