Has any one taken the solidworks certification test.

Has any one taken the solidworks certification test.

Has any one taken the solidworks certification test.

(OP)
And if they have how was it compared to the pracice exams ??

Thank you

RE: Has any one taken the solidworks certification test.

The practice test is a lot less stressful than the real test. No time limit, way less areas covered. Make sure you know the areas recommended on the SolidWorks site. Also, one mistake in the beginning will throw off the rest of the exam.

i am not very fast because i dont want to make mistakes so I guess that will be a problem. Also if what a person is used to design versus a new design that could be a problem.
How many times can a person take the test if he doesnt pass it. And i assume a different test will be given next time.  Any thoughts on this ??

Thank you

You can take it as many times as you're willing to pay, and the test doesn't change.

Thank you Eltron . I do know now that it may take several hundred dollars to pass this test. But i know the money will be well spent. Wouldnt it be great for some free exams.
Also I have tried the sample exam and have failed to answer any properly. I also think i found a mistake on one of them.I have called a solidworks representative in charge of the exams and maybe he can shed some light.

Thank you

The test does change slightly. Not all the models are the exact same.
I know of three people that took the the test besides my self and each was different.

I was told that the tests do stay the same. I thought that was to good to be true.

Thank you

At one time they were the same, with only the dimension values changing.  May not be the case anymore.

RE: Has any one taken the solidworks certification test.

MUST A PERSON TAKE THE EXAMS IN ANY CERTAIN ORDER?  DOES THE PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATE HOLD MORE PRESTIGE THAN THE ASSOCIATE?  CAN A PERSON JUST DO THE SHEET METAL EXAM OR JUST THE PROFESSIONAL EXAM?

THANKS

RE: Has any one taken the solidworks certification test.

I don't think any test is a prerequisite for any other.  The CSWP is supposed to "hold more prestige" than the CSWA.  I don't think either of them particularly show very much.

RE: Has any one taken the solidworks certification test.

If anything a CSWP shows at least a "minimum" competance with SW.  Although the new test was too easy for my liking.  Almost like there's just enough competance to be dangerous without proving you really understand how SW works.

Actually, it pretty much shows a (very bare) minimum of competency with solid modeling.  You could complete the CSWP test with any number of solid modeling packages.  The only possible exception may be the CosmosXpress portion.  I could see very easily getting slightly different numbers to the nth decimal by using a different FEA package just due to meshing differences, etc.
