DIMENSIONING IN A DFT DRAWING-

DIMENSIONING IN A DFT DRAWING-

DIMENSIONING IN A DFT DRAWING-

(OP)
DIMENSIONING IN A DFT DRAWING-

I'm hoping its just a setting I'm overlooking, but in a new drawing today I can't dimension between 2 parallel lines that are at an angle in the drawing. I keep getting the ortho distance between their 2 end points. I've tried turning off endpoint osnap (oh I mean "Intellisketch")in case that was biasing the result, but to no effect. I seem to only be able to get ortho dimensions of non ortho features.

Any suggestions?

Thanks-

C.F.

RE: DIMENSIONING IN A DFT DRAWING-

Perhaps on the dimension ribbon bar choose "by 2 points" rather than "Horizontal/Vertical"?

RE: DIMENSIONING IN A DFT DRAWING-

Or, choose the third setting, dimension axis.  When you choose your first line--be sure not to grab an OSNAP, er... Intellisketch point--the axis will be determined and you will get your dimension aligned to the two lines.
