mesh problem-2009

mesh problem-2009

mesh problem-2009

(OP)
I have an assembly that until recently (yesterday) would mesh.  Now it will not mesh at all.  The specific error says that the surface mesh was successful but that the volume mesh failed.  Even individual parts (which have not changed) will now not mesh.  Things I have tried:

1.  "update all components".  No effect.
2.  decreasing element size.  No effect, even on individual parts.
3.  I created an identical part from scratch to compare to one of the original parts that doesn't mesh.  The new part meshes, the original doesn't.
4.  I started a new study, copied all the connector, fixture, material data from the original study and tried to mesh that.  No effect.
5.  I opened each of the individual components in the assembly and attempted to mesh them independently.  No effect.

I am relatively new to Cosmos.  It seems that there is some default parameter or something I am missing.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I found the answer to my own problem.  There is a file "fmesh*.*" in the simulation folder that Cosmos creates.  Apparently this file occasionally becomes corrupted or something.  I deleted the file and all my problems went away.
