Pool water storage and discharge tank

Pool water storage and discharge tank

Pool water storage and discharge tank

(OP)
I have a pool that once every two weeks will drain at 300 gpm to be sent to the ww facility.  The issue is the facility cannot take this load all at once.  I need to find a tank that can store the water volume (1500 gallons) and send it to ww facility at a reduced rate of flow.  I am having a hard time finding the right underground tank to perform this task.  Does anyone know of any tank vendors with such an item?

RE: Pool water storage and discharge tank

How about any precaster local to you that sells septic tanks?  Drop a effluent pump in in and call it a day?

RE: Pool water storage and discharge tank

Pool water is totally suitable for storm water drainage.  Pump into local storm system or drainage way.

RE: Pool water storage and discharge tank

Poo water is totally NOT suited for storm drainage.  Chlorine and anti-bacterials do not belong in the storm system, and are specifically prohibited in many regulatory environemnts.  Unless the water is shown to contain less than the regulatory limits, it may not be discharged into storm in many areas.

The OP has not stated what kind of water the pool contains-public swimming facility or other, and so we cannot assume the water is clean.

civilperson - that is definitly against the law in some states / municipalities.  Maybe in your town / City / State that is kosher, but that is definitly not the case everywhere...

The tank issue has been answered by others. However, I am very interested about why you are draining a swimming pool every two weeks. Among other things, it's a waste of water and whatever chemistry you are using therein.

I would like to hear further from you, as we may have some viable options to eliminate the draining process. Contact me at www.orendatech.com.

Well, I definitely CANNOT distribute it to the stormwater system, but thanks anyways.  Orenda, it's just the backwash to clean the filters, the issue is resolved, there's a wet well sewage pumpstation being put in a couple hundred feet away, I designed the wet well to take the extra load from the backwash.

Thanks everyone!

RE: Pool water storage and discharge tank

Three days exposure to air with no more added chlorine is considered dechlorinated at public pools.
