Hi,

I have only recently started to use Abaqus.  I am trying to constrain concentrated forces at reference points to surfaces on a single part that I have defined using the partition surface tool. For the majority of these I can apply a kinematic coupling constraint which seems to work ok.  The problem I have is that if 2 forces, each applied to a number of surfaces have one common surface to which they are applied this is not possible using the coupling constraint I am using.  Am I missing something here or how do you suggest this could be rectified.

You may be able to accomplish what you want using analytical rigid surfaces instead of kinematic couplings. Assign a frictionless contact interaction between the rigid body and your surface, then you can apply your concentrated force to the rigid body ref node. Create as many rigid bodies as you need surfaces/loads.
