FLOOR JOISTS/ TGI AS RIM BOARD

FLOOR JOISTS/ TGI AS RIM BOARD

FLOOR JOISTS/ TGI AS RIM BOARD

(OP)
NEED TO KNOW HOW A SECOND FLOOR AND GABLE WALL WILL REACT
TO A TGI USED AS A RIM BOARD WITH NO SUPPORT BETWEEN TOP
AND BOTTOM CORD,AND WALL ALREADY HAS SIDDING APPLIED
AND INTERIOR IS ALMOST INEXCESSALBE TO ANY STRENGHTENING

RE: FLOOR JOISTS/ TGI AS RIM BOARD

Please clarify your question (including "TGI") and explain a bit more, but if you mean what I think, the system is not only structurally unstable under lateral load conditions, but would not meet firestopping requirements between floors, and would present a long-term creep problem with the floor support.

RE: FLOOR JOISTS/ TGI AS RIM BOARD

(OP)
I need you to send me as many brochures as possible on TGI beam construction. Spans from 28'-60' and how they would be tied in to a deck construct of 12'-15' over a 2:1 slope under the porch.

I need this information A.S.A.P.

Thank You in advance for your cooperation in this matter.

This house will be approximately 87' long.

I also need to know the required spacing specifications.
