Constraining in conjunction with deform part - NX5
Constraining in conjunction with deform part - NX5
(OP)
Hello
Please advise - here's the scenario:
1. Deformable spring defined. Works fine outside assembly.
2. Two pivoted links about two fixed points.
3. One angular constraint to define rotation of link a1 in relation to B2.
Changing angle works fine - so far so good, spring follows.
So, one would expect upon adjusting the deformable variable that the link c2 will rotate to the right as the spring lengthens...
NX 5 seems to have a different take on this. As you modify the spring length the other constraints go yellow... or the spring geometry goes bananas. (even though defining sketches are fully constrained...)
Can anyone explain this and advise how to constrain correctly so that link c2 moves as the spring length changes?

Here is the full file data on a zip file. I hope it all loads correctly onto your NX. I tested it here and its OK. A save option which automatically saves the related files of an assembly would be nice. (maybe this does exist..)

If anyone knows how this can be done using the assembly constraints command (Mating conditions are not used in our company) then that would be great. Otherwise I'm limited to setting up different assembly arrangements, which is no better than I-deas. This is a real shame for a high end software package like NX5.
