Space for Breaker in MCC
Space for Breaker in MCC
(OP)
Can someone tell me how much space is required for a breaker in the MCC? I know that the size 1 and size 2 starters require 14" X 20", but I need to know how much space would be required for 100A, 150A, and 225A breakers.

And PLEASE think of the poor electricians who will have to deal with trying to form in the cables suitable for those 100, 150 and 225 amp breakers. I know some manufacturers who will put a breaker into an MCC can and leave no real way to get the cables to the terminals short of rewriting the laws of nature.
If there's a choice, go with the larger, roomier installation. Your construction and maintenance folks will have kind thoughts toward you for the next forty years.

I was involved in an installation whereby the MCC was designed without any consideration of the cable sizes required for the runs. Installation of extra terminal strips in the cable ways to allow appropriate termination was not an option that made anyone happy during construction.
