Pump actuated by vehicles running over a hump

(OP)
Hi,

I belong to a developer. We plan to develop a community 16 units of 14 storeys each of residential condominium. In order to conserve power, I was thinking of making a pump that can eject water collected in a tank by way of a pump activated by humps along the roadway. Any ideas how this could be done?

RE: Pump actuated by vehicles running over a hump

Lots of ways, but not efficiently enough to save over electric motor/pump combination.  Electric rates are very competitive with any home made power source.

How does this "hump" know when the water have to be pumped? What kind of water?

Thinking of something like a peristaltic pump?
