nutplate help
(OP)
looking for:
1/4 nutplate, floating (as per MS21059) BUT with a 0.875 rivet spacing. want to do a one to one replacement for ketema V4-109.
any leads would be greatly appreciated, trying to avoid having to add a nutplate strip
thanks

frustrating that bell did not use standard 1.00" spacing ketema fastners, as they do exist.

Removing the sleeve would leave you with a hole larger than .25", so we're hosed there, too.
RE: nutplate help
also the hole in the T is 1/4 for the ketema, dont want to get any larger (ED). also, if you get a "spinner" in the field after intial install, then you really have a problem

Very field-friendly, through hole not critical (but needed for clamping), and there are varieties with replacable threaded elements. Redundant countersink would need filling, though.
RE: nutplate help
spoke at length with our DER and other "metal men", looks like its a strip and double flush the existing ketema receptacle holes. hard to beat a solid AD rivet for longevity

RE: nutplate help
Are you talking about the transmission wall access panel fasteners in a Bell Medium Heli?
If anyone has found alternatives, it might be Global Helitech in Surrey, BC Canada. They process-repair those kinds of panels. Then again - repairs are in principle a restoration as closely as possible to the original configuration.
I hope this link will work...

Of course, once they get wind you're working on your own STC, their competitive spirit may be aroused!
