hot stamping delrin
hot stamping delrin
(OP)
Perhaps a classic situation: I have 500 delrin housings with a small set of molded-in initials of an ex-client. This was done as a courtesy, and of course the rest is history, as is the client. Our parts and tooling by the way.
So being cheap enough not to scrap some good housings, I am looking for a way eliminate the 3 letters. I tried a quick machine job, but the slightly convex shape makes that look a bit cheesy. I am thinking of perhaps a hot stamp - basically branding the housing with a blank stamp or an appropriate set of letters. Delrin, a great material, is quite anti-social when it comes to sharing electrons in its shells, so fillers/epoxies will not work. Any suggestions?

Where are you located? bt's suggestion of lasering over the current initials is a good one, and I can work with you to do just that if you have an interest.
