Roof Live Load for Agricultural Buildings in IBC

Roof Live Load for Agricultural Buildings in IBC

Roof Live Load for Agricultural Buildings in IBC

(OP)
The UBC had a category for roof live load for greenhouses, lath houses and agricultural buildings of 10 psf (Table 16-C). I'm designing my first ag building under the IBC and can find no such provision. Must I double to 20 psf for flat roofs now?
Thanks
-PSwan

RE: Roof Live Load for Agricultural Buildings in IBC

Yes.
Check with city engineer who is going to issue permit if he allows you for 10 PSF. Otherwise you have to go with 20 psf minimum live load.

RE: Roof Live Load for Agricultural Buildings in IBC

If the slope of your greenhouse roof is enough, you will still be able to reduce the 20 psf load though.
