What would be considered acceptable practice for modeling the effects of post tensioned beams in a structure In ETABS?

RE: Modeling the effects of post tensioned beams

You can apply beam loads to approximate the load balancing produced by post tensioned cables.

The PCI handbook has a design aid on Page 11-24 that shows approximate balancing loads.

Hello slickdeals, thanks for the quick response.

Doing this however could potentially reduce your column moments. Would it still be considered acceptable practice to design the columns with this potential reduction?
