Plotting Load-Deflection curve

Plotting Load-Deflection curve

Plotting Load-Deflection curve

(OP)
Hi,

This might be an easy question. I am trying to plot the load deflection curve in ANSYS Workbench 11.0 using the following command snippet,

/POST26              ! Enter time history
/RGB,INDEX,100,100,100,0
/RGB,INDEX,0,0,0,15
NSOL,3,4000,U,Y      ! Reads y-deflection data into var 3
prod,4,    1,,,pressure,,,10
/sho,png
/AXLAB,Y,DEFLECTION  ! Changes y label
/AXLAB,X,PRESSURE    ! Changes X label
XVAR,4               ! Make variable 4 the x-axis
PLVAR,3              ! Plots variable 3 on Y axis

Now, I can select the node at which I want to plot the deflection at (which is node number 4000 in this case), but how do I tell ANSYS to plot the maximum deflection vs load?

RE: Plotting Load-Deflection curve

You can find out which node has the maximum deflection using a *GET command, and then insert that node number into your code snippet.

RE: Plotting Load-Deflection curve

Hi
Try this

/POST26              ! Enter time history
/RGB,INDEX,100,100,100,0
/RGB,INDEX,0,0,0,15

NSOL,3,4000,U,Y      ! Reads y-deflection data into var 3
RFORCE,4,4000,F,Y    ! Reaction Force At node 4000

/sho,png
/AXLAB,Y,DEFLECTION  ! Changes y label
/AXLAB,X,PRESSURE    ! Changes X label
XVAR,3               ! Make variable 3 the x-axis
PLVAR,4              ! Plots variable 4 on Y axis

Maybe this is an option.
