Section Cuts in Weldment Drawings

Section Cuts in Weldment Drawings

(OP)
Ok, I'm stuck and I need some help WRT weldments.

I've just had a problem, that I thought I had licked, come back to haunt me.  Several months ago, when my company first started working with weldments, we found that item numbers were not propogating from the cut list to balloons placed on section views.  IE, all of the balloons in the section view came out with "1".  This problem seemed to be fixed when we upgraded to SP2.1(SW2008).

I'm currently working with a multipe sheet drawing, with several section views placed on sheet #2.  When this drawing was first created (several months ago), everything worked just fine.  I'm currently working on it, and some of the design changes required me to rebuild the cutlist on sheet 1.  Now, I'm finding that same balloon problem on sheet 2.  Balloons on section views in sheet 1 work just fine, just not sheet 2.

So, thinking that rebuilding the cutlist destroyed some link to the sections on sheet 2, I tried recreating the views, to no avail.

Simply put, I'm stumped.  For the time being, I'm manually entering the balloons as text as a temporary work around, but I would really like to know what's going on.

Thanks for your help.

RE: Section Cuts in Weldment Drawings

jpajewsk,

Are you grab faces or edges with the balloon leaders? I've erratic performance of the balloon feature with weldments when edges of geometry are grabbed instead of faces.
