Does anyone know where I may get a standard on what letters are not used on a revision block due to mix-up with a number?

RE: Rev Letters

ASME Y14.35 &/or ASME Y14.100.

I have neither to hand right now but basically don't use the ones that can look like numbers.  I think this has been discussed before if not here then on forum781: -Engineering Configuration Management.

KENAT,

Have you reminded yourself of FAQ731-376: Eng-Tips.com Forum Policies recently, or taken a look at posting policies: http://eng-tips.com/market.cfm?
What is Engineering anyway: FAQ1088-1484: In layman terms, what is "engineering"?

RE: Rev Letters

ewh,

I know you are kidding, but yeah, I thought about that seriously.  I read the standard carefully.  Technically, triple letters are not prohibited, but they are also not mentioned by the standard.  So I figured YY was a less than arbitrary point to stop the list.

RE: Rev Letters

Question for FCSUPER:
Could you please direct me to the article where I can find the "complete" list of the ASME acceptable rev. letters? I would like to thank you for your list but I need to pass on formal literature on the subject. I've look in ASME and can't find it.

THANKS to all for your help!!!
