(OP)
I have a class a surface (iges import) that has a boundry made up of non-paramatized splines.  I need to define a datum plane going through the boundry at three points and does not intersect the surface.
Example: I want to set this surface on an inspection table.  I need to know the three points of contact to establish my primary datam targets.

I also need the ability to swap the iges import with a different one with other iges files and repeat finding the datum targets for each iges import.

RE: behavioral modeler

Not sure I follow.
To make a plane click the create plane icon, then choose through and pick a point, pick through and the 2nd pnt and through and the 3rd pnt.
3 Points defines a plane. PLanes are infinite even if you only see a small yellow/red representation. so they go on forever.
