"J" or splash pipe design question
"J" or splash pipe design question
(OP)
I am retrofitting an existing plant and need to design in "J" pipes to direct the incoming flow against the wall minimizing splashing. Is there a handy dandy chart somewhere of nozzle (sch 40, 6" projection) Vs bend (1.5d, 2d,3d,5d) and J-pipe diameter?

We are assuming that you are inside of a tank ??
Dip tubes are superior to j tubes...?

RE: "J" or splash pipe design question
The retrofit involves 3000 to 6000 gallon pressure vessels in a batch process plant.
Why the preference for dip pipes? (Others have said that dip pipes are prone to plugging. To me, that's unlikely unless the solids are light, rising to form a solid bed within the quiescent pipe.)
