Animating 3 parts for a simple rotation project.

(OP)
Greetings.

I have 2 arms that need to rotate on the same axis the first arm rotating to the second arm locking then both arms rotating to the final destination.  Been out searching for tutorials for this type of info and am missing something.  Everything says to grab the part and move it into position.  well if your moving linearly  I want to rotate on the same axis.  SO I found where you can rotate on the direction of the csys and it works if your using the original csys.  I cannot get my assembly to rotate on a newly created csys axis.  Any input would be helpfull I would like to selct the axis in the model and rotate on it but have not found the right pick combinatyions to do so.

Any help would be apreciated.

An image of what you're talking about would be nice.

Its the movement of the simple stappler.  the lid or top rotates back 155 deg..the stapple carriage is neutral at about 15 deg and as it moves to the base it moves to a minus 2 deg.
