What would be the location of a pole if the azimuth/ dip is 260/ 70?

RE: Goephysics

it depends wether you are working on upper or lower emisphere projections.

In upper hemisphere, locating it on a watch's dial, it would be a point almost at 9 hours, at a little distance from the dial's edge.

In lower hemisphere, it would be specularly symmetric

Thanks for the reply. How about if you wanted to plot on a stereonet?

RE: Goephysics

It's difficult to describe a point on a stereo-net.  The pole would be in the NW quadrant, pretty close to the center of the stereo-net, just north of the E-W meridian.

Hmm! But I think the borehole/ pole should be located in the NE quadrant. The dip should fall 70 degree on the right side of the stereonet from 90o, and for a pole you should count another 90 degree. After plotting the pole, turn the stereonet back to the original N.

RE: Goephysics

Not sure what you mean by borehole?

But you are correct, I meant to say NE quadrant, and the pole would be about 20 degrees inside the edge of the stereonet.

Appreciate your reply. Borehole represented as pole.
Thank you.

RE: Goephysics

by "azimuth" i take it you mean dip direction?

RE: Goephysics

Goephysics?

Are you speaking of the anatomical physique of the Goeduck?
